Fancy some jazz with your morning coffee and croissant; then head to Livid Laneway to hear some of Perth’s emerging talent strut their stuff (or inside Livid Skate Café if the weather is unkind!).

Flavio Colonetti (piano) and Aaron Caldwell (alto saxophone) are both in their fourth year of the Bachelor of Music (Honours) program at ECU.  They started playing together many years ago in the WAAPA Jazz Young Artists Ensemble and have performed at numerous jazz venues and private events around the area.

Saxophonist Aaron Caldwell is a new and exciting addition to the Perth jazz scene. Whilst studying at WAAPA he has built a reputation as an improviser and a musician, sharing the stage with many notable musicians including Will Vinson (UK), Shannon Barnett (Ger), Frank Gambale (US). Flavio Colonetti is a talented pianist and composer with a distinctive and versatile voice on the piano.

In this set, Flavio and Aaron will play a diverse range of music, from bebop musicians such as Bud Powell and Thelonious Monk, through post-bop and fusion works by Wayne Shorter, to contemporary pieces by Melissa Aldana, Immanuel Wilkins, Aaron Parks, and Brad Mehldau.
