Led by Arvis Mena (Cuba/Australia) and Jeremias Sosa (Argentina/Australia), De Cuba Son is a high-energy ensemble that blends the vibrant rhythms of Cuba with jazz, pop and rock. The band features an outstanding lineup of musicians from Cuba, Argentina, Colombia, New Zealand and Australia, including Mohamed Builo Michel on piano, Oslu Castaneda on percussion, Chris Tarr on drums, and a dynamic horn section featuring Marc Osborne (saxophone), Marty Pervan (trumpet) and Alex Parkinson (trombone). Together they deliver an electrifying mix of Cuban classics and original music that will have you on your feet from the first note.

Whether you’re an experienced dancer or simply keen to soak up the atmosphere, this lively Sunset Markets session is guaranteed to get you moving. Dance instructors will be on hand to teach a few salsa steps, while De Cuba Son brings an authentic taste of Cuba to Scarborough Beach with irresistible rhythms, infectious energy and plenty of feel-good fun.
